Got my GMRS callsign (WRVX201) this morning and was able to make a contract on your 700 machine. Seems to be working great into West Fresno. Thanks to the club for setting this up and making the repeaters open to everyone. I added the frequencies for the two repeaters to my ID-5100 mobile for monitoring; I currently only have a handheld radio for GMRS transmit.
Sometimes I go up to Big Stump with the local astronomy club and I wanted to be able to communicate with my family as there is no cell service up there. GMRS and the repeaters on Park Ridge should be a good solution for this. I have yet to be able to get my wife to study for her ham ticket so GMRS will be a good solution.
