Thanks again for allowing me some time at last nights club meeting to share about Cal OES' volunteer program (Communications Reserve Unit). I mentioned some of the ways we support counties. Most commonly known is our incident support of our firefighters and law enforcement officials on fires, floods, and search and rescue. Some of the planned events we support include things like the Big Sur Marathon. The link below is to a story our PIO did 5 years ago, but this year's setup with mostly the same with some equipment upgrades and mountaintop setups and locations.
