With #Dayton #Hamvention® 2023, just over few months away, organizers earlier proclaimed
Innovation! as the event theme. While the advanced technology encompassing amateur radio is
certainly innovative, Hamvention is not just about technology; it is about involving people of all ages and segments of society.
Carole Perry WB2MGP is the director of The Radio Club of America (RCA). She states that, “We
want to reward a young ham who has volunteered to help an elderly person, a military person, his or her community somehow or a young ham actively involved with recruiting other young into hamradio.” Perry said she is accepting nominations for “Young Ham Lends a Hand Contest” until April 1, 2023. The winner will receive a $100 stipend and will be announced at the Youth Forum at Hamvention.

Dayton Hamvention is scheduled May 19-21, 2023, at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Exposition Center, Xenia, Ohio. Hamvention is the largest annual amateur radio gathering in the US, and among the largest in the world. With nearly 700 volunteers, 2023’s event boasts more than 500 indoor exhibits and more than 2,500 outdoor exhibits. They will showcase the latest in amateur radio equipment, technology, and computer software and hardware, along with hard-to-find radio and computer accessories and equipment.
